Jervoise School has recently opened its doors to a new library, designed and developed by pupils and staff alongside the creative team at BookSpace.

The Chair of Trustees at drb Ignite Multi Academy Trust, David Sheldon, was invited by pupils of Jervoise School to officially open their new library, earlier this month.

Members of Jervoise School Parliament presented a letter to David Sheldon and the Trustees. Pupils said “we want to take this opportunity to thank you for funding or new and improved wonderful library! We (Jervoise pupils) are excited to explore our new library and read all the fantastic new books you have provided”.

David Sheldon said “we strive to develop a passion for reading in all our pupils. School libraries can help fuel a child’s imagination, ignite creativity and give pupils the literacy skills they require to grow and succeed in life.”

Robert Bowater, Chief Executive Officer of drb Ignite Trust spoke with pupils and parents at the opening and mentioned “how pleased parents were with the new learning space created for their children”. Robert said “to develop crucial literacy skills, environments such as this library need to be created so pupils can further succeed at school and in adult life’.
