The Trust Improvement Board (TIB) has been established by the Trust board with the primary objective of providing strategic direction, enhancing educational standards, ensuring robust financial governance, safeguarding and facilitating support for the improvement and development of schools within the Trust.
The TIB operates in close collaboration with the Achievement, Support, and Scrutiny Committee, as well as the Finance and Resources Committee, leveraging collective expertise and resources to drive continuous improvement across the Trust’s educational and operational domains.
Meeting regularly each term, the TIB conducts comprehensive reviews of performance reports, internal reviews, and external evaluations to evaluate the performance of every school within the Trust. It validates judgments, identifies risks, and formulates mitigation strategies as needed.
In addition to analysis, the TIB provides vital support to school senior leaders, fostering collaborative efforts to address challenges and plan future improvement actions.
A core function of the TIB is to offer professional challenge to schools and enhance their improvement work. By fostering deep school-to-school improvement partnerships, the TIB aims to enhance and develop the overall capacity and capability of the Trust.
The TIB places particular emphasis on schools where performance concerns arise, providing increased scrutiny and support to facilitate rapid progress.
Aligned with the Trust’s commitment to a school-led system, the TIB empowers high-performing schools to play an extended role, leading improvement initiatives and driving Trust-wide innovations.
Recognising the effectiveness of sustained collaboration, the TIB advocates for consistent teacher engagement to meet improvement challenges effectively. Peer review and moderation schedules provide essential support for this collaborative approach.
In addition to performance-related matters, the TIB also oversees finance-related aspects, ensuring accountability across all financial activities within the Trust, including budget management and spending decisions.
